Terms of Use
Effective October 27, 2026
Tell people you're recording and follow local law
- WristEcho records the sound around you, including other people. When you talk with others, let them know you are recording, and stop if they object.
- Many places require consent before recording, some require the consent of everyone present, and some settings prohibit recording entirely. You are responsible for knowing and following the law where you are, and for any legal consequences of your recordings.
- Do not use WristEcho to record covertly or without people's knowledge, to monitor, harass or stalk anyone, or where recording is prohibited.
- You must obtain a person's explicit consent before recording their voiceprint.
- The app shows recording indicators while it records (on Apple Watch, a red dot and timer while the app is on screen, plus the complication and the system microphone indicator). Do not try to hide or bypass them.
Transcripts and AI output can be wrong
- Transcripts, speaker labels, daily and weekly reports, to-dos, titles and answers are generated automatically. They can be inaccurate or incomplete, and lines can be attributed to the wrong person.
- Check anything important against the original audio. Do not rely on this output alone for medical, legal, financial, employment or safety decisions.
- WristEcho is not a medical device, gives no medical advice and is not meant to be the only record of a meeting or the only source of legal evidence.
Your content is yours
- The audio you record and the text and reports made from it belong to you and are stored only on your devices and in your own iCloud or computer backups.
- We have no copy of your data and cannot restore it. Keep your own copy as needed with Export All Text or a device backup.
Purchase
- WristEcho is a paid app: a one-time purchase, with no in-app purchases and no subscription. Every feature stays available, including features added in later updates. If we ever offer optional services that require a server, they will be described separately and will not affect existing features.
- Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple. Request refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Third-party components and optional models
- WristEcho uses open-source software and models. Their names, copyright holders and licenses are listed in the app under Settings › About › Acknowledgements.
- A local model you choose to download (for example Qwen3, Apache 2.0 license) comes from Hugging Face and is subject to its own license. huggingface.co and hf-mirror.com are third-party sites we do not control.
Features and regions
- Some features depend on your device, OS version, language and region. For example, Apple Intelligence is only available on supported devices and in supported regions.
- If WristEcho is later offered on the China mainland App Store, copies downloaded there will not offer generative AI features and will use extract mode only.
- We may improve or change features through updates.
Warranty and liability
Warranties, limitation of liability and governing law are as set out in Apple's Standard EULA.
